The Lord's Prayer

Prayer is at the heart of our relationship with God

The Lord's Prayer

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name

Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as in heaven

Give us today our daily bread, and forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us

Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil

For the kingdom the power and the glory are yours, now and forever.  Amen

The Grace

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with us all, evermore.  Amen

Remember that prayer is not just about saying words, it's also about listening - listening to what God might be saying to us.  So silent prayer also has a role in our spiritual lives.

Prayer Board
Do you have a need for special prayers for a loved one (or yourself) at this time?  St James the Less has a prayer board where ANYONE can write a name on a card—just a Christian name, nickname or relationship (‘my aunt’), though knowing a little (‘heart problems’, ‘redundancy’) can help people who pray to focus more directly.  After 3 weeks the cards will be removed unless a specific end-date is mentioned.

If you would like the prayer chain to pray for you contact Jennifer Nutt 0118 984 2370.

Funerals
A funeral is used to mark the end of a person's life here on earth. Family and friends come together to express grief, give thanks for the life lived and commend the person into God's keeping. These can be a small, quiet ceremony or a large occasion in a packed church.

For information regarding funeral services, please contact the Rector.
